Room Setting
In this painting, depicting the Bustling harbor city of Hong Kong, I wanted to capture the motion
significance of the harbor that connects Hong Kong with the rest of the world.

One of the most prominent parts of this painting is the IFC building.  As an artist who likes to
change things up a bit and step outside the bounds of reality, I chose to have the building
thrusting across the cityscape, demonstrating the importance of Hong Kong to the Global
economy.  At the same time, I didn't want to get too serious or political with the painting, so I
used bold, bright colors highlighted with lights and action.  The fireworks in the sky and
streaming lights from below make this a true "Celebration" of the city of Hong Kong.  A city that
has exploded onto the international scene as one of the premier places to live, work and visit.

I hope you enjoy studying all the little details and buildings that are so representative of the
thriving city of Hong Kong and feel inspired to visit there and enjoy the natural beauty and
man-made wonders that abound.
