MADART Alaskan Studio
This is where I spend my summer's creating my unique style of art, in my
remote Alaskan cabin.  My cabin is located in the small community of Meyers
Chuck, 40 miles North of the Gateway City to Alaska, Ketchikan.

Meyers Chuck is comprised of approximately 10 year round residents, with the
other homeowners being summer residents, myself included :)  There are no
roads to get to Meyers Chuck, the only access is via boat or floatplane.  There is
one small post office that has outgoing and incoming mail once per week.
There is no grocery store, gas station or any other amenities, the closest
shopping source is in Thorne Bay across 10 miles of open water that can
become very rough at a moment's notice.

I recently purchased my own personal satellite dish in order to have internet
service so that I can continue to create my art and run my business without
missing a beat.  Power is created from solar panels and a personal generator
that charges batteries for use when the generator is not running.

I can look out my studio window and see the whales breaching along the rocky
shoreline and see eagles perched high atop the trees.  The otter, mink and
martin are a constant source of entertainment watching them as they frolick in
the water just off our beach.  Mother deer and their fawns are often seen
crossing our beach when the 20 foot tide has receded and they cross from one
island to the next.  The wildlife is so abundant I could simply sit and watch all
day, but then of course I wouldn't get any painting done!  They are certainly an
inspiration, as is the natural beauty that surrounds me; I am in constant awe of
all that can be found in such a remote place on this earth and wish that
everyone could see what I see every day.

Below are some photos of my studio, which is still a work in progress, our cabin
attached to my studio as well as some scenic views.  I will be adding more
photos so be sure to stop by!

Please visit my
Alaskan Series Collection to see the art created from the Wilds
of Alaskan inspiration!!
Floatplanes are the ONLY way to get mail in and out.  This photo was taken
from inside my cabin, amazing views!
